Abstract

With the advancement of multi-component system maintenance, group maintenance has become a critical approach to optimizing time, resources, and risk, widely applied across industries. Availability and reliability, as key indicators of system stability, are central to group maintenance strategies. However, existing methods often neglect the influence of real-time status updates on maintenance decisions. We propose a dynamic group maintenance planning method that optimizes both reliability and availability by integrating real-time system updates. The method combines preventive and opportunistic maintenance strategies into a dynamic framework. A two-level model is established, where component-level maintenance schedules are based on availability to determine the component proposed maintenance period, and system-level optimizes availability under reliability constraints, and iteratively updates the group maintenance plan based on real-time status information. A case study demonstrates the method's superior performance in improving system availability and reducing risks.
