Abstract
This survey firstly recalls the developing phases of avionics integrated systems, and then illustrates the inevitable trend of shifting media shared data buses to wideband networks in airborne device/module interconnections in order to respond the next generation avionics system requirements by the large capacity high integrated signal/information interactions. This paper also introduces the Universal Avionics Network (UAN) candidate solutions for the advanced integrated avionics systems, i.e. Fiber Channel (FC), Scalable Coherent Interface (SCI) and the optical network with wavelength division multiplexing technologies, and addresses their features and research directions.
