Abstract

Superhydrophobic aligned polystyrene nanotubes with adhesive force were prepared by the use of a simple template-wetting method. Compared to the traditional superhyudrophobic surfaces, the prepared polystyrene nanotubes shows storng adhesion to water. The study shows that an aligned nanotube structure can improve the hydrophobicity of the surface and increase the adhesive force with water. The results of the study helps in understanding the wettability of solid surfaces, and can be helpful in important industrial applications.
