Abstract

Dong et al. present a subnano ruthenium species anchored on nano-SnO2 (Ru@SnO2) with highly tunable mass loading, which is prepared by a micro-etching technique. This low-cost Ru@SnO2 electrocatalyst achieves ultrahigh activity for the alkaline hydrogen evolution reaction, superior to expensive Pt/C catalysts.
