Abstract
A kind of semicircle curve spring sheet steel that could be used as the elastic element of strain displacement sensor is analyzed based on curved beam theory.The undetermined functions in the general displacement formulas of semicircle curved beam are obtained by setting the boundary constraint conditions.The sensitivity coefficient formula of semicircle elastic element is also deduced when the free end displacement is only radial displacement.Finite element simulations for thin-walled and thick-walled elastic elements and tension tests of thick-walled elastic elements show that these formulas could be used on actual structures.The sensitivity coefficient of the elastic element is influenced only by its inside radius and outside radius.Theoretical analysis and experiment result show that the sensitivity coefficient is inversely proportional to the inside radius when the ratio of the outside radius to the inside radius is a constant.
