N2 - To study the influence of inlet mode on the flow field characteristics of air turbo ramjet (ATR) mixer, the mixing characteristics of lobed mixer were studied by numerical simulation in the afterburner of ATR engine. The lobed mixer under vertical inlet and pre-swirl conditions were compared and analyzed. The results indicate that the lobed mixer has the obvious advantages. Compared to no mixer, the temperature mixing efficiency is improved by 13.2%, the pressure mixing efficiency is increased by 1% and the total pressure loss is increased by 0.1% after adding the mixer with swirl inlet flow. And compared to vertical inlet flow, in the condition of swirl inlet flow, the mixing efficiency of the temperature is in-creased by 7.3%, the pressure mixing efficiency is reduced by 1.5%, and the total pressure loss is in-creased by 0.73%. Adding lobed mixer and adopting pre-swirl intake mode can obtain satisfactory mixing effect of internal and external flow.
