Abstract

For getting the vehicle's next position and verifying the GPS data, the vehicle kinematic model was taken as 'current' statistical model, and the current speed and direct of the vehicle on the road were obtained by using the method of map-matching and dead reckoning in this paper. The result of the car experiment on the road shows that not only the precision and the real dynamic performance, but also the reliability of the GPS system on the car are advanced, and the GPS multi-path effect is improved. And in blind area of GPS, the vehicle navigation system is still available by this method. And the technology has its practicability in some way in the case of that the simple GPS has taken up the main field of the vehicle navigation system.
