Abstract
The principles and characteristics of present compensation methods for periodic zero drift error of quartz MEMS gyroscopes in inertial navigation system are studied and analyzed and a new compensation method is proposed to improve the system performance. This new method utilizes the original data before data smoothing to calculate the error conversion formula parameters in initial alignment time and then compensate the smoothed data error with the conversion formula at navigation time. Experiment results show that this method can avoid the bad influence of data smoothing on frequency stability of periodic error and maintains the real-time characteristic. This method is effective in the real-time error compensation of quartz MEMS gyroscope.
