Abstract

This paper gives a test and analysis about overhead of message copy on a multi-DSPs hardware platform, and analyzes problem of message zero-copy communication protocol. Considering characteristics of DSP and typical applications which need transmitting massive data, the true message zero-copy method is presented and the corresponding communication protocol is designed and achieved, which reduces the overhead of communication. The communication process is achieved by DMA and some required interrupt service routines, which reduces the burden of DSP core greatly.
