Study on hydrogen production from partial oxidation of dimethyl ether

Research output: Contribution to journalArticlepeer-review

Abstract

A system of dimethyl ether partial oxidation reforming reaction for experiment and test was designed. Using this system, the effects of catalyst, temperature, and velocity were investigated. The result indicated that the catalyst of Fe can improve the reaction velocity. With the increasing of temperature the conversion of dimethyl ether, production of hydrogen, the volume content of methane and carbon monoxide were improved at the ambient pressure and 550-650 °C . With the increasing of mole ratio of air to DME the conversion of dimethyl ether was improved and the volume content of methane was reduced at the mole ratio of air to dimethyl ether 0.6-2.5. With the increasing of velocity, the conversion of dimethyl ether and hydrogen production decreased.
