Abstract

Damage identification is a hot topic in the field of structural health monitoring in recent years. Structure damage can lead to the changes of inherent frequency and vibration mode, which are independent of external load. Damage can be detected if information of the changed inherent frequency and vibration mode is obtained. Taking inherent frequency and main vibration mode as diagnostic information, the identification and location of damage in a simplified model of a wing based on Genetic Algorithm is studied in this paper. The results show that the algorithm can identify and locate the damage with high precision.
