Abstract

A novel scheme of aircraft carrier landing is proposed employing airborne infrared electro-optical/inertial integrated navigation, which can provide the relative position and attitude information of the carrier and the aircraft to implement aircraft semi-auto or auto landing. The presented scheme has the advantages of high accuracy, self-contained and anti-jamming. This paper illustrates the principle of the system, studies the algorithm of cooperative targets in the case of regular layout and provides computer simulation results. Simulation results show that estimation error of the relative yaw of the aircraft is less than 10' and estimation errors of aircraft landing position are within 1m, which indicate the feasibility of the scheme and the efficiency of this algorithm. Hence the scheme proposed in this paper is of great value in engineering practice.
