Abstract

The three-phase inverters with the conventional space-vector pulse width modulation (SVPWM) have fast dynamic response, but it is complex to be implemented and needs highly speed microprocessor. A new simplified SVPWM is proposed in this paper. Based on analyzing the theory, the duty ratio formulas are given. By the formulas the duty ratio can be computed and the simplified SVPWM is implemented on the inverter. The proposed method has the advantage of conventional SVPWM method with fast dynamic response and it is simple to be implemented. The new simplified SVPWM is validated by computer simulation and experiment. The simulation and experimental results show that the proposed new method is valid and feasible.
