Abstract
A novel method of controlling the sampling interval is presented in this paper. With the relationship among the accuracy and the sampling interval and the model parameters of the filter being applied, the sampling interval to achieve the defined accuracy with certain model parameters can be determined. It is shown by the Monte-Carlo tests that this method can conserve the advantages of those methods based on IMM estimator meanwhile its computer budern is cut down significantly.
