Study of post-peak mechanical properties of rock based on SMP criterion

Research output: Chapter in Book/Report/Conference proceedingConference contributionpeer-review

Abstract

Post-peak mechanical property of rock is an important indicator of the evaluation of rock mechanical properties, and the relationship between residual strength and surrounding rock pressure is an important part of it. Establish the relationship between the two factors based on SMP criterion through selecting the appropriate simulation function and apply it through the example of skarn. It is concluded that: residual strength has a strong sensitivity under low surrounding rock pressure. And the sensitivity is weakened with the increasing surrounding rock pressure. The explanation of the test results is more reasonable compared with the relationship based on Mohr-Coulomb and Hoek-Brown failure criterion.
