Abstract

In the paper theoretical and experimental investigations of the process of third recovery of petroleum are presented. A simple model to study the mechanism of ultrasonic wave demulsification of oil-in-water emulsions of the third petroleum recovery is given based on the behavior of small droplets of crude petroleum in the aqueous medium. In the experiments on the demulsification of the third recovery mixture produced by polymer flooding the effect of frequency, ultrasonic irradiation time and intensity has been studied and the results obtained have been analyzed in relation with the model proposed.
