Structural fuzzy interval reliability analysis method

Abstract

Based on the fuzzy reliability analysis model, the uncertainty of the related parameters of the distributed density functions of the state variable are taken into account. The span of these parameters can be fixed in the corresponding intervals, then; these intervals are introduced into analyzing the fuzzy reliability of the structures. According to the theory of the interval arithmetic, a method that can forecast the span of the structural fuzzy reliability level is presented. When the stated variable submits normal distribution, the analysis procedure of this method is discussed in detail. Numerical example shows that this method can provide more available information than conventional methods on degree of safety of structure; therefore, it is more valuable for engineering applications.
