Abstract
Stereoscopic displays based on polarized glasses use polarizer to separate images of left and right eyes. The performances of stereoscopic displays based on polarized glasses depend on parameters of the polarizers. The concept of stereo cross-talk for stereoscopic displays based on polarized glasses is proposed. The relation formulas between stereo cross-talk and rotation angle of polarizers, stereo cross-talk and polarization degree of polarizers are deduced. The results show that stereo cross-talk increases as rotation angle of polariers increase, but stereo cross-talk decreases as polarization degree of polariers increase. The performances of stereoscopic displays based on polarized glasses are improved.
