Abstract

Considering the modern SAR with super-high resolution in a centimeter-level, the ultra-wideband (UWB) signal bandwidth over 1.5GHz provide possibilities to extract scattering parameters of the target centers for a better target detection and recognition. In this paper, we propose an approach, based on the geometrical theory of diffraction (GTD) model and the state space method, to estimate the parameters of target scattering centers from the high-resolution SAR images, which are focused by the general imaging algorithm to improve the signal-to-clutter-noise ratio (SCNR) in the target area as much as possible. From the SAR image data, we select a smaller part, which contains all the target information, to transform it into the slow time-range-Doppler data suitable for the state space processing to exactly estimate all the scattering parameters of target centers. And the efficiency and effectiveness of the proposed algorithm are verified by the simulation results of extracting the frequency-dependent factors for point targets under certain SNR environment.
