Abstract

This paper considers the state estimation problem of the two-dimensional Fomasini-Marchesini second (FM-II) model. To deal with the bounded disturbances, the quadratic boundedness is first defined for two-dimensional system described by the FM-II model and then used for the state observer design. By using the invariant set related to the defined quadratic boundedness, the upper bound of the estimation error is obtained, and a criterion for the quadratic stability of the estimation error dynamic systems is proposed. The expected observer gain matrix is obtained via linear matrix inequality technique. Simulation study is provided to verify the feasibility of the proposed method.
