Abstract

The composite structural characteristics of helicopter rotor system, the characteristics and requirements of rotor system structure damage tolerance design are introduced in this paper. The main contents of rotor system composite structure damage tolerance design are summarized according to the domestic experience of helicopter rotor system structure design. Finally, the key technologies, such as rotor damage determination methods, the coupling analysis between damage and rotor dynamic characteristics, and the critical damage determination methods for different kinds of damages and so on, are given. It is meaningful to carry out deeply the research work on the damage tolerance analysis and design technology of helicopter rotor system composite structures. It will increase the rotor system structure fatigue life and improve helicopter flight qualities and safety.
