Abstract

Sneak circuit is studied widely since it is known in the early 1960s. Now it has become an important aspect of system reliability and security. And as more and more new topologies and characteristics are developed in the modern power system, the sneak circuit problem cannot be solved by using the conventional method. Petri net is powerful tool for describing and studying systems and it has been applied to study power system widely. In this paper, a Petri net of power system is obtained based on the electrical circuit of system and some characteristics of which are presented. The character of Petri model of "H" type circuit is discussed. Then the method to analyze the sneak circuit depended on the reachable marking graph and the state equation is presented. The method is applied successfully to one specific instance which verifies the validity and the practicability of the method in practice engineering.
