Abstract

The ingot and fast-cooling Sm2Co17 alloys were fabricated by arc-melting and suction casting methods, respectively. Magnetic properties of the fast-cooling Sm2Co17 alloy are enhanced than the ingot samples. The fast-cooling alloy with a diameter of 6mm has a high coercivity of 16.47kOe at room temperature. Moreover, the fast-cooling samples show a better performance than the ingot and commercial alloy, a high coercovity can be maintained below 500 °C and remain 70% of the value when temperature increased to 600°C.
