Abstract
The floor field model is modified by additionally considering the pedestrians' perception capacity of the exit width to simulate the evacuation process in a room with multiple exits. The simulation results show that the evacuation time is sensitive to the cognition coefficient, and it is decreased provided the coefficient is taken into account. The asymmetrical coefficient of the new arrangement for the cells in the evacuation room is used to verify the effect of cognition coefficient. Furthermore the relationship between the minimal points of evacuation times and unbalance coefficients is investigated.
