Abstract
To eliminate the residual stress of aluminum alloy pre-stretching board, an elastic-plastic finite element model was developed to simulate the vibratory stress relief (VSR) process. The parameter effects of VSR toward residual stress relief were analysed. Vibration can relieve residual stress of Al board by creating certain amount of plastic deformation; larger displacement induced by resonance is more effective to reduce residual stress; vibration time does not have a major impact on the vibration stress relief.
