Abstract
The characteristics of the w-band high frequency output window was modeled, simu lated, and measured. The influence of the three key structural parameters, including the circular wave guide, window thickness, and window diameter, on the characteri stics was evaluated. The simulated results show that the voltage standing wave ra tios (VSWR) of the window in the 94.21~94.76 GHz range and the 94.34~94.64 GHz range are below 1.2 and 1.1, respectively, and no ghost mode resonance was observed in the operating frequency range. The thickness of the ceramic window was found to strongly affect the characteristics. The simulated temperature and stress distributions on the window with ASYST show that the highest temperature, 117°C, and stress, 144 MPa, locate at the center and edges, respectively. The measured VSWR was below 1.2 in the 94.13~94.60 GHz range, with the smallest VSWR of 1.06 at 94.40 GHz.
