N2 - Multidisciplinary cross-integrated researches and interdisciplinary cooperation can help inspire new ideas and accelerate development of disruptive application. Here we combine terahertz (THz) imaging technology and artificial intelligence (AI) algorithms to realize the dynamic monitoring of silkworm egg development. We not only demonstrate, for the first time, rapid recognition of silkworm egg development stage with a recognition accuracy of ~98.5% by intelligent THz imaging technique, but also push the accuracy up to 99.2% through fusing THz imaging and optical imaging. Such AI enabled THz technology can be expanded to other application circumstances.
