Abstract
It is shown that the mechanical and shape memory characteristics of the polycrystalline Ni54Mn25Ga21 high temperature shape memory alloys can be improved by grain refinement. The maximum shape memory strain is 4.2%, and the compressive plasticity is higher than 10%.
