Abstract

Shape memory characteristics of dual-phase Ni58Mn25Ga17 and Ni56Mn17Fe8Ga19 alloys have been investigated. The results show that the second phases in both alloys can raise the strength and plasticity. Ni58Mn25Ga17 alloy has a shape memory effect of 5.1%, which is better than Ni56Mn17Fe8Ga19 alloy owing to the favorable γ phase distribution.
