Abstract
The corrosion mechanism of naphthenic acid in crude oil, influence factors and progresses in test methods at high temperature were summarized. It was found that the crude oil types, compositions, operation temperature, materials of construction, fluid velocity and operating time had great influence on the naphthenic acid corrosion. A set of device for simulating naphthenic acid corrosion under high temperature and high flow rate was designed and set up based on the latest research progresses. This set of simulation device could provide test conditions under a crude oil temperature of 450 °C and a scouring speed of 100 m/s to meet the demands of high temperature erosion-corrosion experiments.
