Abstract

Software Defined Networking(SDN) is a new network architecture which separates logical control from data forwarding, it has advantages in centralized control, traffic engineering, security and so on. The traffic load balance on servers can be implemented with SDN and the SDN conroller can adopt multiple strategies to do the load balance. In this paper, we introduce the traffic state prediction according to the past traffic state into load balance. The prediction algorithm we used here is Radial Basis Function(RBF) neural network. Then the controller can have a better performance in load balance with the predicted traffic state. We implement the load balance model under Mininet and traffic state prediction algorithm in POX controller.
