Abstract

This paper describes a detailed sensitive analysis of the effect of the geometrical parameters on the motor's torque ripple, its dispersion and the average torque for the surface-mounted permanent magnet synchronous motor (SMPM). Both the noise factors and control factors are then analyzed. The multi-level orthogonal table arranges the 2D FE based control factors sensitive analysis experiments. All the results are collected to make the statistical analysis including the calculation of signal-to-noise ratio (SN) and mean value. The noise factors' groups are also made to control the manufacture tolerance. The results show how the motor's key features are influenced by the noise factors and key geometrical parameters. The conclusion of this paper may prove to be a useful tool to choose the optimization variables
