Abstract
Yb3+ double-clad fiber (DCF) was used as gain medium, whose one end is successfully jointed to a fiber Bragg grating (FBG), and the other end is then sealed to a fiber interferometer that has 5 m single mode fiber. The pulses, whose pulse width is 3.6 ns, peak power is 56.7 kW and repetition rate is about 1 kHz, were obtained realized, then stable self-Q-switched all-fiber laser was realized. We pointed out first that the cooperation of Rayleigh scattering (RS) and stimulated Brillouin scattering (SBS) lead to obtain ns pulses from the double-clad self-Q-switching all-fiber laser.
