N2 - This paper proposes a link distance and hop count balancing RWA algorithm based on an ant colony optimization. The hop count of the selected path determines the pheromone update in the algorithm, and the pheromone on the selected path is updated using global information. We add link maintenance time to the heuristic function and the algorithm can adaptively adjust the transfer probability according to the cross-layer link distance to select the next-hop node. Simulations show that the proposed algorithm performs well in terms of time delay, hop numbers, and communication success rate.
