Abstract

This paper describes arobust linear matrix inequality (LMI) controller based on specified Region Pole Assignment for the hypersonic flight vehicles. Aim to design robust tracking controller of velocity and altitude, LMI technique is used to design robust controller of longitudinal movement to make the unstable modes of open-loop system stable. Meanwhile pole assignment in the LMI region of sector and rectangle is employed to guarantee the dynamic performance and meet requirements for attitude. The mixing LMI region of sector and rectangle makes adjusting parameters of controller conveniently. The control-oriented model retains the major features of controlled object, including the non-minimum phase behavior of the flight-path angle dynamics, the actuator properties, model uncertainties and the strong couplings between the flight dynamic and the engine. The simulation results demonstrate that the proposed controller achieves a dynamic performance of much shorter transition time and a smooth transition process which keeps the engine operating normally. It is a valid and reliable controller for hypersonic vehicle.
