Review on the Development Trends of Electric Drive Systems for Electric Vehicles

Abstract

With the continuous development of electric vehicles, the technological development of their core power component - the electric drive system - has a direct impact on the future industrial layout of electric vehicles. This article objectively and comprehensively describes the development of electric drive systems and summarizes their future trends, including key components such as motors, motor controllers, reducers and system configurations. In addition, it also highlights the emergence of new chassis structures in the context of vehicle electrification and intelligence, bringing revolutionary changes to electric vehicle powertrain technology, and points out that the corner drive system is expected to become the ultimate form of chassis for future electric vehicles.
