Abstract
An effective algorithm of blind deconvolution based on total variation minimization was presented to restore the turbulence-degraded image. The total variation of the point spread function (PSF) and the image was added to the cost function as regularization terms, which effectively eliminated the ill conditioning of the blur operation and resolved the problem of the possible infinite solutions in blind image restoration. In additional, a discretization method for image restoration equation was extended to this algorithm for the requirement of fast restoration. The experiments results show that the proposed algorithm is robust with high ability of resisting noise, and the edges of the image are protected well.
