Abstract

This paper concentrates on the design and simulation for a resilient gust load alleviation system, which is located on an aircraft with flexible wings configuration. It reduces gust loads by using control surfaces even in the presence of actuator and sensor faults, so that the structural weight of aircraft is mitigated and the comfort of passengers is increased. The adaptive technique is utilized to design the controller in the load alleviation system. Because most of the flexible aircraft states cannot be measured by sensors, the presented controller is modified by an output feedback scheme. The performance of the resilient control approach is demonstrated on the aircraft numerical model, and the simulation results verify the effectiveness of the resilient load alleviation strategy.
