Abstract

Planar distributed travelling-wave tube (TWT) has attracted more and more attention in millimeter-wave (MW) frequency band in recent years because of its easier fabricating process and higher output performance. This paper will mainly introduce the research work of planar distributed TWT at W-band of our lab, including the staggered double-vane (SDV) and the folded-waveguide (FW) slow-wave structure (SWS). Simulation results show that the W-band planar distributed TWT can achieve output power of more than 100 W and operating bandwidth over 10 GHz.
