Abstract

In order to characterize the architecture and hidden properties of embedded component system at the fine-grained level, a new viewpoint that the embedded component system with large scale could be studied as a large amount of components connected by the relationships. Thus the Embedded Component Network (ECN) was named. Then taking the eCos for an example, the experiment results confirm that the network exhibits some characteristics of small-world, scale-free and high-cohesion. As a result, a general measure of potential centrality and a new algorithm to identify important components in the ECN based on data field potential were proposed, which contribute to the quality measurement of embedded component system.
