Research on the high-temperature rise combustor lean blow-out and smoke emission characteristics

Research output: Contribution to journalArticlepeer-review

Abstract

A new high temperature rise combustor design with a three-swirler and hybrid injector to improve the smoke emission and lean blow-out characteristics was presented. The uniformity of fuel air mixture distribution in the primary zone of the new design is fairly good, while the fuel air mixture in the recirculation zone is rich. Experimental research was conducted to compare the new design with base-line design in terms of smoke emission and lean blow-out characteristics under the same inlet condition. The experimental result shows that the new high temperature rise combustor design successfully broadens the operation range and improves the smoke emission characteristics.
