N2 - This paper introduces the topology of active power filter (APF) with three-level diode clamped and its principle. the paper analyses the space vector PWM (SVPWM) principle in detail. The traditional SVPWM algorithm requires a lot of calculation about trigonometric functions, and it needs to judge the sector. This paper studies a SVPWM algorithm based on 60° coordinate. This algorithm omits the sector judging and it simplifies the calculation of action time about space vector. At the meantime, this algorithm can maintain the approximate balance of netural-point voltage between capacitances. Finally, the system is simulated in the software PSCAD, and the simulation result proves the validity of this algorithm.
