Abstract

Slant range model is the basis of back-projection (BP) imaging algorithm, of which accuracy directly affects the imaging quality. In this paper, we propose a simplified slant range model (SSRM) for BP algorithm applying to missile-borne SAR to reduce the time costs of slant range calculation. Further, we demonstrate the feasibility of SSRM by considering its error upper limit, and calculate the speed-up ratio of SSRM on DSP comparing to the conventional slant range model (CSRM). Verified by simulation, SSRM can reduce computation amount of the BP algorithm on missile-borne SAR while ensuring the imaging quality.
