Abstract
Under high sea situation, for the ship course and roll motion's characteristics of strong coupling and uncertainty, the traditional PID control is lack of good adaptability. Besides course-control, rudder also has the function of the anti-rolling, for reasonable fin action is also beneficial to course-control. In order to improve the effect of ship course and roll control, we researched the uncertain model's ship course and roll coupling. We used robust controller theory based on linear matrix inequality (LMI) to research ship course and roll coupling, to design and to solve the controller. The simulation results show that the course and control precision of robust controller in ship course and roll coupling under high sea situation is about 20% higher than those of the traditional PID control system.
