Abstract

With the rapid urbanization development in China, the number of left-behind children has increased. Recently, the popularity of intelligent mobile devices makes the communication between left-behind children and their parents much easier. However, the quality and frequency of their communication did not satisfy either side based on our survey. In order to help the families establishing a stable and effective communication for the long term, we investigated the parents of left-behind children through interview and questionnaires. According to the result, we followed the habit formation theory and proposed an online communication solution. We designed a prototype which focus on emphasizing communication initiative. Our research provided a new perspective for the communication between parents and left-behind children.
