Abstract

Offset is an important timing parameter in signal coordination Time-space method and mathematical analysis method are the common optimization method with the objective of maximizing the green wave band Based on the space-time characteristics in urban traffic flow, an improved mathematical method is introduced in the paper. The modified mathematical analysis method can be applied directions are green wave width whether the traffic volumes of two opposite directions are imbalanced or whether there are double cycling intersections in coordinated sub-areas It can also identify intersections which affect the green wave width, and obtain the linear equation group of the green wave. Finally, field data from 28 intersections are collected and the simulation software VISSIM is used to validate the feasibility of the flow prediction model and the merits of the modified mathematical analysis method coordinated.
