Abstract

Multiview Video Coding (MVC) is an extension of the Advanced Video Coding (AVC) standard that provides efficient coding of such multiview video. This paper describes the main concepts of multiview video coding (MVC). Firstly, the architecture evolutional history of MVC is introduced. Then, the key technologies of MVC are discussed in detail about prediction structure in different evaluate standards. Finally, conclusions are drawn and future research directions for MVC are put forward.
