Abstract

A new method of infrared image generation for typical aircraft that based on GPU is proposed. Complete procedure of infrared simulation including temperature model, radiation model, atmosphere model and image-forming system model is built in this paper. All of these models are solved and rendered with GPU which has powerful calculating ability. The result shows that dynamic infrared image of aircraft which varies with the status of aircraft could be generated efficiently with this method. Considering that temperature field could not be calculated real-timely and the unsatisfied simulation details in former infrared simulation methods, a new implementation method of calculating the temperature field with vertex texture of GPU is proposed.
