Research on energy consumption of screw compressor under load/unload

Abstract

This paper analyzes the operation power of screw air compressor and the formula of power of isentropic adiabatic compression is given.Then the influence of leakage with the volume flow is described and the volumetric efficiency is calculated. Based on power and volume flow, the energy consumption model of screw air compressor is established and simulated with MATLAB.Simulation results prove that the optimal value of upper limit exists and the gas consumption affects the value.
