N2 - Virtual flight testing can replace part of the flight test to validate the real aircraft flying qualities and performance. This paper introduces the concept of the virtual flight testing, proposes a kind of structure of a virtual flight testing system, and introduces the composition and work process of VFT system. The virtual flight testing system is based on the aircraft virtual prototyping or flight simulator. It includes management & control console, data acquisition, processing & evaluation console, and database to store various model and data. Take an example on short-period response and takeoff performance testing, studies the process, methods and technology of virtual flight testing.
